CRIES OF YOUTH CORP MEMBERS

Like rain drops falling from d sky,so are tears fallin 4rm my eyes. Like a caged bird lm singing my redemption song hoping one day 2 be freed from dis modern day slavery. I cant wait 2 be free from dis shackles n chains, from dis prison called service 2 humanities. I ve asked times without number;wat is d essence of dis whole stuff? Do d initiators of dis program keep 2 dia own part of d agreement? Does dis program have any meaningful effect on d populace? I ve come 2 realize dat d answer is not far fetched. We re being used as pawns by d initiators 2 siphone money;like gladiators we fight with our lives 4 dem 2 make ends meet, we fight and they take d credits. But we find solace on d fact dat a journey of 1000 miles must definetly end one day,and like soldiers dat fought gallantly we will sing n shout our redemption songs 2 d roof tops. Having written our names in d sands of time, leaving stories and legacies 4 our children n d future generation, we will live 2 reap d fruits of our labour. And when d leadership is handed over 2 us,we will never let our children n d unborn generation suffer wat we went through, d harsh environment,d polluted atmospheres, d jungle justices, d discrimination n tribal killings and so on. Dats is not a promise from us bt a convenant and we re swearing with our lives and sealing it with our blood

A Letter From An Easterner To Mr President

Good morning Mr. President, I want to congratulate you on the 53rd anniversary celebration of our country Nigeria. This is roughly your third year of patching this great country of ours that is on the verge of breaking down. I'm sorry I don't ve sugar coated words 4 u dis morning. I will like to draw your attention back to your promises during ur electioneering campaign. One of them is the second Niger bridge;nothing has been said or done about d bridge after u were declared the so called winner. I want to ask if the second Niger bridge is part of vision 2020 or Vision2050 or is it a mere talk. You knw the problem people pass through in crossing the old bridge that will collapse soonest especially during festive periods. It took me more six hours to cross from Asaba to Onitsha, a distance that would ve taken just ten minutes. Election is fast approaching and as expected U will be coming to the east to tell us many stories that touch, but we expect u to be certain this time around.

sufferings of Oko people in Anambra state

The people of Old Aguata comprising of Aguata, Orumba north and south L.G.A. are asking if they are still part of Nigeria and Anambra state judging by the negligence the area has suffered and is still suffering in the hand of both Federal and State government despite producingnotable sons and daughters like  Chief Alex Ekwueme, Dr Charlse Soludo, Dr Andy Uba and others. The area has been left to be washed away by erosion and flood. Major towns like Oko, Ekwuloba and nanka are being  devastated by erosion with dozens leaving their houses because of erosion encroachment and the government doing nothing about it. We only hear about the help of government on radios and television but yet to see it on the erosion sites. Now the question is the government waiting for the land and the people to be washed away before it does anything?  Let me remind the government that the almost one third of Anambrarians are from that region

painful loss; should this one year mandatory national service continue?
